On 13 September 2022, CEN and CENELEC officially became signatories of the Equality Platform for the Energy sector. Through this endorsement, CEN and CENELEC pledge to support the efforts towards promoting equal opportunities in the European energy sector.
The Equality platform for the energy sector was established in 2021 by the European Commission. Its aim is to provide a forum to discuss equality related issues, facilitate the exchange of experiences, and highlight good practices, while acting as an accelerator for concrete actions to achieve gender equality.
Diversity and inclusion are key to ensure equality in business, politics and society, and the energy sector is no exception. In this spirit, the platform invites all stakeholders involved in the European energy sector to commit to working together towards concrete actions contributing to gender equality by signing the Declaration of the Equality Platform for the Energy Sector.
