Personal identification
CEN/TC 224 ‘Personal identification and related personal devices with secure elements, systems, operations and privacy in a multi sectorial environment’ develops standards to strengthen the interoperability and security of personal identification and related personal devices. The Technical Committee covers a variety of sectors such as government - citizens’ interactions, transport, banking, and eHealth. It is also active in the development of deliverables which give guidance on providing access to areas by means of biometric authentication technologies and set clear requirements on privacy and data consent.
AIDC Technologies
CEN/TC 225 'AIDC Technologies' deals with standardization of data carriers for automatic identification and data capture, of the data element architecture thereof and of the necessary test specifications and of technical features for the harmonization of cross-sector applications.
Management and preservation of digital content
CEN/TC 468 'Management and preservation of digital content' was established at the end of 2020. It deals with standardization of processes in the field of long-term digital preservation of content, covering all functional, operative and technical aspects. Digital preservation allows organizations to be in control of their contents as they determine the appropriate level of confidentiality and the corresponding conditions of preservation - and to keep knowledge on where these contents are physically.
Communication systems for meters
CEN/TC 294 ‘Communication systems for meters’ develops standards for communication interfaces for systems with meters and remote reading of meters for all kind of fluids and energies distributed by network. The TC develops deliverables that on topics such as secure communication, data privacy as an inherent property, scalable mechanisms for security services, data integrity, authentication and confidentiality.
