The developments of electrical networks require continuous updating and extension of the standards catalogue for electrical equipment and apparatus.
The same goes for the infrastructure and the components, such as high and low voltage switches and controlgears. These activities are often developed in support to the EMC, Low Voltage and Radio Equipment Directives.
European Standards are therefore being developed for solid electrical insulating materials (CLC/SR 15 ), electrical accessories for household (CLC/SR 23), capacitors and resistors for electronic equipment (CLC/SR 40). CENELEC also makes available standards for the design, manufacture, use and testing of discrete semiconductor devices, integrated circuits and sensors (CLC/SR 47A).
CLC/TC 204 addresses the safety of electrostatic painting and finishing equipment, notably for devices relying on liquid coating materials, powder coatings or flock.
