Seconded European Standardisation Expert in India (SESEI)

Launched in 2013, SESEI promotes cooperation between Europe and India on standards and related policies and regulations, with the aim to:

  • Enhance the visibility of European standardization activities,
  • Increase cooperation between Indian and European standardization bodies, and
  • Support European companies facing standardization-related issues which hamper market access to India.

India is amongst the world’s fastest-growing large economies and is an important trade and investment partner for Europe, and SESEI serves as a vital link, bridging the European and Indian standardization sectors.

Seconded European Standardization Expert in China (SESEC)

Since its establishment in Beijing in 2006, SESEC has been recognized by both European and Chinese stakeholders as the “go-to” place for information, dialogue and cooperation between Europe and China on standards and related policies and regulations, with the aim to:

  • Bridge the contacts and strengthen the dialogues between European and Chinese standardization bodies and policy makers,
  • Facilitate de understanding of each other’s standardization strategies in the context of industrial and trade policies,
  • Support European industry in tackling market-access issues in China, and
  • Enhance the visibility of European standardization activities.

Since its WTO accession, China has been one of the key trading partners for the European Union and EFTA countries. In the current globe of growing tensions, it is crucial to have meaningful dialogues with the right contacts, hence the importance of the SESEC presence.
