SDG Goal 1 - No Poverty
End poverty in all its forms everywhere
SDG 1 focuses on addressing the issue of extreme poverty and recognises the effect the COVID-19 crisis risks in reversing what has been decades of progress in the fight against poverty. Ultimately, the goal wishes to eradicate extreme poverty for all people everywhere, currently measured as people living on less than $1.25 a day by the end of 2030. Monitoring SDG 1 in an EU context focuses on progress made in alleviating multidimensional poverty and in ensuring that the basic needs of EU citizens are met.
