Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impact
SDG 13 focuses on climate change. Climate change is caused by anthropogenic emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gasses. It is affecting every country on every continent. It is disrupting national economies and affecting lives. Weather patterns are changing, sea levels are rising, and weather events are becoming more extreme.
The decarbonization of all aspects of our economy has to be accelerated and the ability to deal with the impacts of climate change has to be strengthened.
In an EU context the focus is on progress made in climate mitigation efforts, in reducing climate impacts and in supporting climate action
