Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development

Besides their dedication and commitment to international standardization through their memberships and the Vienna (with ISO) and Frankfurt agreements (with IEC), CEN and CENELEC as European Regional Standardization bodies have always been actively engaged with other national and regional standardization bodies worldwide.

 

Through our partnerships we promote the primacy of international standards developed by ISO and IEC, since we believe that technical alignment with these international standardization organization is a key driver for ensuring a level-playing field in the global trade landscape.

 

We also make available our entire catalogue of ‘homegrown’ European standards to all ISO and IEC member bodies with which we have a cooperation framework, for identical adoption and the absence of an ISO or IEC standard. The details of these adoptions of CEN and CENELEC ‘homegrown’ standards can found in our Global Outreach Report which is published twice per year.
