SDG Goal 9 - Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation
SDG 9 focuses on addressing infrastructure investments, access to financial services, environmental investments, research and development and technological legacies. It promotes inclusive and sustainable industrialization as a core driver for ending poverty and improving standards of living of all people. The targets and measures by 2030 are to raise significantly industry’s share of employment and GDP in line with national circumstances; to upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with increased resource use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes; encouraging innovation and increasing the number of R&D workers per one million people and public and private R&D spending.
