R&I Communities - Valuing contributions

How can researchers be recognized for their contributions to standardization?

When researchers and academics are involved in standardization, it is important that their contributions are visible so that their scientific careers benefit from their involvement in the European standardization system.

An obvious and simple evidence that a scientific publication was important for standardization is when the publication is referred to in the bibliography of a standard. This is a straightforward way of showing evidence when a researcher wishes to indicate the value of his contribution to standardization.

Another initiative is the yearly presentation of the CEN and CENELEC Standards +Innovation Awards that acknowledge and celebrate the important contributions of Researchers, Innovators and Entrepreneurs to Standardization.
