The International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), and Austrian Standards International Standardization and Innovation (ASI) have joined forces to organize a high-level online event, which will explore the strategic importance of aligning regional standardization with the international context and reflect on its future evolution.
In our world, challenges are increasingly global, and require cooperation across different levels: international, regional and national/local. Thanks to the participation of high-level professionals and standardization experts, the event will explore how the cooperation model between ISO and CEN, in the form of the Vienna Agreement, has been one successful example in making this type of cooperation possible. Furthermore, the event will provide a forum to present and discuss the various cooperation models and perspectives in other regions of the world, together with some best practices of ISO members to implement international standards at the national level.
The Vienna Agreement, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, has ensured over the years the adaptation and implementation of international standards in Europe, supporting the Single Market and contributing to world trade while avoiding duplication.
Post-event material, such as the recording, is available on the event website and on the CEN-CENELEC website.
