Security standardization has an increasing coverage and therefore complexity. The number of Technical committees involved in security is large. All these TCs are developing or transposing existing standards within their scope and terms of reference. But security has a broader view, and many elements must be harmonized between standards: terms and definitions, data exchanged, certification and qualification processes, etc.
Interoperability of standards is a key issue, and the liaison mechanism between TCs is no longer sufficient. How can we exchange relevant, accurate and consistent data (sensors, geolocation indoor and outdoor, video, tactical situation, etc.) between different processes relying on different standards? How can we interface with the defence world in dual domains, such as CBRNE, security threats, operational data, etc.
This workshop will:
- address and clarify the current situation
- identify critical points
- identify a potential way out, propose improvements in standardization processes in security
