The risk of hearing loss is underestimated. Hearing loss is one of the most common disabilities. Unfortunately, it is usually observed only very late after many years of exposure. And worst of all, hearing loss is irreversible.
With modern communication needs, the ability of hearing becomes more and more important. Therefore, it is critical to protect our hearing and enable communication even in noisy environments.
CEN/TC 159 “Hearing protection” is focussing on describing requirements for hearing protection to make sure that products put on the market are safe and do protect users. Additionally, it gives guidelines on how to best select, use and maintain hearing protection.
For this webinar we have selected a number of different topics covered by the current standardization work of CEN/TC 159. Those include, among others, hearing protection with communication features, hearing protection for children and fit testing of hearing protection.
If you are interested to safely participate in noisy events (concerts, Formula 1, etc.), if you are looking for solutions to communicate in loud environments, or you are interested in hearing protection and you like to find out whether a product is safe, you are most welcome to attend this webinar and learn more about standardization activities in relation to hearing protection.
Or maybe you are an expert for hearing, an audiologist, a safety engineer or a medical doctor who is not fully up-to-date on the current standardization activities on hearing protection? You are more than welcome to join us and share your own experiences.
