Since its establishment, CEN/TC 351 ‘Construction products – Assessment of release of dangerous substances’ has worked on the formulation of test methods for several aspects of the release of dangerous substances from construction products. Formulation, since many test methods already existed and only needed adaptation to be used for construction products. A major step was the validation of the test methods to assess their fit-for-use and repeatability and reproducibility. As Phase IV of the mandated work is almost finished, the TC wish to present the results to a wider audience the outcome of the work.
Therefore, you are kindly invited to a conference on the presentation of the deliverables and results of CEN/TC 351. The conference will be held in Riga, Latvia, on 10 May 2023.
The programme and the invited speakers will be published soon. The goal of the conference is to present the developed methods on the assessment (leaching, emission, radiation, content, analysis of eluates and digests) of dangerous substances in and from construction products and how they can be applied in product standards, assessment documents and regulations. Contributions from the
European Commission, Member States, construction product organisations, CEN Product TCs, Working Group representative, and the industry are welcome.
Online participation will be possible, but interested participants are warmly invited to join in person. Thanks to funding by the European Commission, the participation to this conference is free of charge. Travel and accommodation are to be covered by the participants.
Due to the limited capacity, applications will be processed on a first come first served basis. For both participants to the conference and the CEN/TC 351 plenary meeting, a dinner is organised on Wednesday evening, 10 May 2023.
