To celebrate the fifth edition of the Standards+Innovation Awards, CEN and CENELEC will present their annual award ceremony as part of the stakeholder event “Making research results work for society”, on 26 October 2023.
The event is organized in the frame of the European Commission's awareness raising campaign on knowledge valorisation, which aims at promoting the latest policy developments on knowledge valorisation and showcasing how research and innovation results can be transformed into societal and economic benefits. The event will include a panel discussion about the practical uptake of the Code of practice on standardisation.
Launched in 2019, the Standards+Innovation Awards acknowledge the important contribution of research and innovation to standardization. Nominations are presented by CEN and CENELEC National Members. The ceremony will present awards in three categories:
- Project award, presented to a European research project that successfully contributed to standardization.
- Individual researcher/innovator award, presented to an individual who introduced her/his research outcome or innovation into standardization, thereby creating impact for her/his work
- Young Researcher award, presented to an individual student, based on the work done for academic theses, doctoral dissertations or other university research projects addressing standardization.
The fourth category, Technical Body Officer award, will be presented as part of the CEN-CENELEC Technical Body Officers seminar on 4 December 2023. This award acknowledges CEN and CENELEC Technical Body Officers (Secretary, Chair, Convenor) who actively and successfully collaborated with researchers/innovators within his/her technical body.
