Organised by the CEN-CENELEC SABE Topic Group Circular Economy (SABE CE-TG) with the objective of providing guidance to CEN and CENELEC Technical Bodies in the preparation of circular economy related standards. This workshop will provide participants with practical information regarding standardization activities and best practices related to circular economy and material efficiency topics from three CEN Technical Committees.

At the occasion of International Women's Day, this webinar will provide an overview of the role standards can play in support of Gender equality. It will highlight the importance of adopting a gender-lens when drafting standards for the benefit of all and present the newly adopted CEN-CENELEC Gender Action Plan (2023-2025), as well as actions taken by the global Standardization community. In particular, a specific case-study will be presented by AFNOR to showcase the Gender-Responsive Standards initiatives led by the national Members of CEN and CENELEC.

This webinar will provide participants with the latest developments regarding the preparation of harmonized standards (hENs) for Healthcare.
It will also provide guidance and solutions to Technical Bodies in the preparation of harmonized standards in support of the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and the In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices Regulation (IVDR) to ensure a smooth citation of healthcare standards in the Official Journal of the European Union.

The new HAS contract has been signed and the HAS assessment system has re-started in October. The aim of the webinar is to:
• Do a recap of the tasks and responsibilities of the HAS contractor and consultants, as well as the existing processes and flows, and
• Present the novelties of the HAS assessment system.

The risk of hearing loss is underestimated. Hearing loss is one of the most common disabilities. Unfortunately, it is usually observed only very late after many years of exposure. And worst of all, hearing loss is irreversible.
With modern communication needs, the ability of hearing becomes more and more important. Therefore, it is critical to protect our hearing and enable communication even in noisy environments.
CEN/TC 159 “Hearing protection” is focussing on describing requirements for hearing protection to make sure that products put on the market are safe and do protect users. Additionally, it gives guidelines on how to best select, use and maintain hearing protection.

This webinar discusses specific drafting issues which have shown to potentially lead to lack of compliance HAS assessments. The webinar focuses on: specific drafting rules laid down in the 'CEN-CENELEC Internal Regulations - Part 3' (IR3); the formulation of verifiable and unambiguous requirements; normative references

The webinar focuses mainly on homegrown deliverables and only briefly on EN ISO harmonized standards. For the latter, we refer to the previous Webinar 'Dating of Normative references in EN ISOs harmonized standards' .

After a very successful first webinar, the 2nd webinar “Highlights in Circular Economy standardization” will be held in October 26th from 1 to 3 PM. It is organized by the CEN-CLC SABE Topic Group Circular Economy (SABE CE-TG) with the objective of providing guidance to CEN and CENELEC technical bodies in the preparation of circular economy related standards. This workshop will provide participants with practical information regarding standardization activities and best practices related to circular economy and material efficiency topics from three CEN and CENELEC or ISO and IEC committees.

This webinar will provide participants with practical information regarding the preparation of CEN and CENELEC harmonized standards to be cited in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) under the Machinery Directive.

The workshop will feature presentations on the key legislative requirements, existing work in technical committees and a discussion on how we could potentially generate an approach to integrate the requirements for PPE, medical products, and dual use products. Therefore, we hope to bring together stakeholders from different perspectives.
