This webinar will provide participants with practical information regarding the preparation of CEN and CENELEC harmonized standards to be cited in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) under the Machinery Directive.

The workshop will feature presentations on the key legislative requirements, existing work in technical committees and a discussion on how we could potentially generate an approach to integrate the requirements for PPE, medical products, and dual use products. Therefore, we hope to bring together stakeholders from different perspectives.

CEN and CENELEC will host the fourth edition of the Standards+Innovation Awards on October 3rd.
Launched in 2019, the Standards+Innovation Awards acknowledge the important contribution of research and innovation to standardization. Nominations are presented by CEN and CENELEC National Members.

The EU has a clear expectation that the European Green Deal will be systematically supported by suitable standardization activities. The objective of this webinar is to discuss with relevant stakeholders how this expectation can be met by the European Standardization Organizations (ESOs).

In our daily life, we see more and more 'smart' products appearing, also in garments and other (protective) equipment. Standardization of this type of products was initialized in 2017. Following previous workshops, information exchange is essential for standardization activities but also legislative acts and recommendations for certification bodies. Horizontal issues that have to be solved for all sectors together. This includes to prove compliance with EU legal requirements, for instance on the protective functionalities.

LS/EEDAL joint conference will take place in Toulouse from June 1st to June 3rd. It is expected to have more than 160 contributed papers in cutting-edge topics in Domestic Appliances and Lighting Systems Technology.

The consequences of climate change are increasingly felt across the world. Nature-based solutions, which consists of using natural resources to tackle environmental challenges, have an enormous (and still relatively unexplored) potential to reduce the impact of such disasters, while simultaneously providing environmental, social, and economic benefits and helping build resilience.

How can we exchange relevant, accurate and consistent data (sensors, geolocation indoor and outdoor, video, tactical situation, etc.) between different processes relying on different standards? How can we interface with the defence world in dual domains, such as CBRNE, security threats, operational data, etc.
