The Bulgarian Institute for Standardization (BDS) and the Romanian Standards Association (ASRO), in partnership with five universities, recently finalised the implementation of the two-year project STUNED - Standards Teaching in University Education, funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission.
The main objective of STUNED was to support the development and implementation of innovative practices for online training on standards in university education at the European level through cooperation between European universities and standards bodies.
BDS and ASRO elaborated 22 training modules for various university specialties, among which business administration; IT; marketing, economy, trade, services and tourism; and material sciences. The training materials were first targeted to university lecturers, who afterwards developed training modules for students that were used for modernising university curricula.
BDS and ASRO hope that the project outcomes will contribute to raising the preparedness of university graduates to use standards in their future jobs, as well as to increasing the interest of young people in standardization and possible professional career in the standards domain.
