CEN and CENELEC, together with the Portuguese Institute for Quality (IPQ), joined the Knowledge Valorisation event in Lisbon on November 14-15 to deliver a training on the implementation of the Code of Practice for Researchers on Standardization in the European Research Area.
The event was organized by the Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education in cooperation with the Portuguese National Innovation Agency, the Foundation for Science and Technology and the European Commission. It brought together representatives from Higher Education Institutions, industry, intermediary organizations, and decision-makers to discuss the challenges and opportunities in knowledge valorisation and explore collaborative actions and initiatives to address them. The gathering was also an opportunity to reflect on how the recommendations on knowledge valorisation adopted at European level can be tailored to the national context of Portugal.
The event in Lisbon was the 6th of a series of national events taking place in the frame of a Tour de Capitales on Knowledge Valorisation promoted by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research & Innovation.
The aim of the Tour de Capitales is to raise awareness on the guiding principles and the two codes by addressing all research and innovation actors: researchers, students, innovators and entrepreneurs, Horizon funds beneficiaries, research institutions, higher education institutions, standard development organizations, intellectual assets management professionals, and the business environment, as well as civil society associations and citizens, local and regional administrations, and policy makers.
The next national event will take place in Athens, on 30 November 2023, where CEN and CENELEC are going to present a training in collaboration with ELOT, the Greek Standardization Organization.
