Small Business Standards (SBS) published a guide on blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) to raise SMEs’ awareness and assist them in mastering the use of blockchain technology.
The guide illustrates four case scenarios that demonstrate how blockchain can:
- strengthen overall business sustainability;
- help SMEs certify their quality management system;
- ensure authentication and trust in identification;
- strengthen policy response to raising and urging geopolitical concerns.
The guide provides SMEs with basic yet key principles of blockchain and DLT technology and how standardisation can help in strengthening transparency and sustainability of operations, scaling up solutions and sensibly reducing transaction costs for businesses.
Moreover, the document provides an update on EU policy developments and the geopolitical challenges that SMEs may face in using the proposed technology and standards.
