In an important recent development for the organization, UNI (the Italian Standardization Association) has distributed its new job system to the staff. The job system is a document that, for each role, details its content, analyzes the areas of responsibility, and formalises the missions, the main activities, knowledge and skills necessary through accurate job descriptions.
In the last days, in an important development for the organization, UNI (the Italian Standardization Association) has distributed its new job system to the staff. The job system is a document that, for each role, details its content, analyzes the areas of responsibility, and formalises the missions, the main activities, knowledge and skills necessary through accurate job descriptions.
Each role in UNI is assigned to a specific professional family (13), to a professional profile (31) and possibly to a specialized field. The value of the job system lies in the fact that it:
The peculiarity of UNI’s job descriptions is that they use the qualification system based on UNI standards for “unregulated professions” (currently 95 plus 35 reference practices).
The job system is a very useful project because it clearly defines who does what and on what basis, supports process improvement, helps personnel selection, performance evaluation and definition of training activities. It is also a further element of the HR management and development model.
