Mr Mayer's priorities in this capacity include attracting and educating a future generation of standards makers, ensuring that standardization within companies is addressed at the appropriate level, and fostering adoption of incentives for companies participating in standardization work. Upon his nomination, he commented: 'Standardization is absolutely key for valorising and monetizing new developments in research and technology'.
