Towards Horizon Europe work programme 2025

The European Commission offers all stakeholders the opportunity to provide input for the development of the Horizon Europe work programme 2025, which sets out the funding opportunities for research and innovation activities coming up next year.

The feedback is collected at the level of the ‘Destinations’ outlining the impact and outcomes expected from the projects to be funded in the different thematic clusters:

  • Cluster 1 – Health | (6 destinations)
  • Cluster 2 – Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society | (3 destinations)
  • Cluster 3 – Civil Security for Society | (6 destinations)
  • Cluster 4 – Digital, Industry and Space | (6 destinations)
  • Cluster 5 – Climate, Energy and Mobility | (6 destinations)
  • Cluster 6 – Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment | (7 destinations)

The CEN-CENELEC Management Centre submitted a reply to several of the Destinations outlining how the proposed research topics can relate to the work of CEN and CENELEC technical committees and flagging areas of pre-normative research needs which could be further addressed in the upcoming Horizon Europe work programme.

The feedback collected will contribute to the co-creation process of topics in the work programme 2025 and will lead to the adoption of the final work programme.

CEN and CENELEC and their Members have invested in reaching out to the research and innovation community, and they have also participated in numerous research projects to provide opportunities to bring EU-funded research work into standardization. The next phase of Horizon Europe should build on these achievements and seek to further exploit the potential of EU-funded pre-normative research to anticipate future trends in standardization.
