New reports and recommendations from several HLF workstreams are now available

The European Commission continues to publish new reports from the High-Level Forum on European Standardization’s workstreams. The new reports include recommendations on standardization in different fields and how they can support the relevant sectors across Europe.

The High-Level Forum on European Standardization (HLF) was launched in January 2023, connected to the EU Strategy on Standardization. Its goal is to define priorities for standardization, supporting EU legislation and policies and a green, digital and more resilient Single Market. The work is carried out under different workstreams, some of which have already produced reports or recommendations.

Workstream 3 ‘NSBs – peer review (+ SMEs & civil society inclusiveness)’

The report analyzes the inclusiveness and participation of all stakeholders in standardization at the national level. In particular, it looks at the conditions and measures for stakeholder access and for balanced and effective participation, analyses the obstacles of participation, offering proposals for improved access and participation, and collects existing best practices. The report also includes a list of recommendations aimed at policymakers, stakeholders, National Standardization Bodies (NSBs) and National Committees (NCs) to make standardization more inclusive for all.
