The objective of the standardisation project is to establish European standards for customer data access and portability in the insurance sector to support the implementation of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 20 and of the proposed EU Regulation on a Framework for Financial Data Access (FIDA) Articles 2(1), 4 and 5.
The standardisation project will develop a European Standard (EN) for the semantic specification of the interfaces for the required access to customer insurance data. In addition, a CEN Technical Specification (TS) will describe, at the technical implementation level, the application programming interfaces (API) in the Open API Technology.
Following the European Commission’s acceptance of the proposal by CEN, funding is available for establishing a team of paid experts.
