This year, the Institute for Standardization of Serbia (ISS) celebrates its 90th anniversary. With the aim of emphasizing the importance of standards and their application in all areas of life, both nationally and internationally, ISS has started the year with numerous activities. Since January, ISS has participated in several international fairs organized in Belgrade. So far, it has presented itself at the Textile, Tourism, Construction and Technical Fair.
All the activities will culminate in a Festive Academy in October. This fair is especially important for organizers in Serbia, given the fact that Belgrade is hosting the world's largest fair event, Expo 2027.
Participation in each of the fairs involves being present both in the exhibition part and in the part dedicated to education. Therefore, a special lecture on the topic of standards from a given field is organized at each event. This way, ISS has the opportunity to present its work to both exhibitors and visitors to the fair.
In addition, at the Construction Fair, ISS’s associates and employees organized a very important training course in the field of occupational health and safety (OHS), with an emphasis on safety at construction sites. At the same time, participation involves promoting ISS’s new activities, while also emphasizing the importance of using standards in all areas of business.
Special attention is paid to ISS’s visual identity. On the spacious stand, in addition to the exhibition part, a section for searching standards online has been arranged.
At each of the previous events, one day was set aside for students and high school graduates. The goal is to introduce them to standards in the field of their interests and studies.
New fair events, in which the Institute for Standardization of Serbia will participate, are scheduled for the autumn. Together with the preparation of the anniversary, this will be an active period for all employees of ISS who are always happy to socialize with visitors and exhibitors, always preparing some new surprise, all with the aim of promoting standards and the institute that distributes them.
