Call for Cybersecurity Experts: Join the STAN4CR Project

With the rising tide of cyber threats, the European Union's Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) aims to ensure stronger cybersecurity standards for digital products across the Single Market. To support this legislation, CEN and CENELEC have launched the STAN4CR Project, designed to accelerate the development of crucial cybersecurity standards.

We are currently seeking Rapporteurs (Project Leaders) to lead teams in drafting horizontal cybersecurity standards that will apply across various sectors and product types. These standards will form the foundation for compliance with the CRA and enhance trust in digital products throughout the EU.

Why Apply?

This is a rare opportunity to contribute directly to Europe's cybersecurity landscape. As a rapporteur, you will:

  • Impact the security and resilience of digital products by drafting key cybersecurity standards;
  • Lead expert teams in developing standards, coordinating feedback, and aligning with other technical bodies;
  • Collaborate with a broad network of stakeholders, including industry experts and regulators, to create essential security frameworks.

Rapporteur Roles

The roles available are:

  1. General Principles for Cyber Resilience: Leading the development of broad cybersecurity principles applicable to all products.
  2. Generic Security Requirements: Drafting specific security measures, including secure configurations and vulnerability management.
  3. Vulnerability Handling: Establishing processes for identifying and addressing vulnerabilities throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include leading drafting processes, facilitating stakeholder consultations, and ensuring alignment with product-specific standards.

What We Are Looking For

Ideal candidates have:

  • Strong knowledge of European Standardization processes (CEN and CENELEC);
  • Expertise in cybersecurity, with experience in managing product security and addressing vulnerabilities;
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, along with familiarity with EU legislation, such as the CRA and NIS2 Directive.

How to Apply

Applications are open until November 22, 2024. Selected rapporteurs will receive financial support from the European Commission and EFTA under the Single Market Programme, with daily rates covering project-related costs.

This is just the start: future calls will focus on developing vertical cybersecurity standards for specific products, for example semiconductor devices, trusted chips, and servers.

Take this chance to play a key role in shaping the future of cybersecurity in Europe.
