#MeetingStandards: Workshop on Empowering SMEs and crafts with standards

In November, Meeting Standards, the annual campaign week hosted by Small Business Standards (SBS), took place. A variety of events were organized by standardization bodies and SME organizations throughout Europe. The goal was to raise SME awareness of the strategic benefits of standardization, fostering SME involvement in standards development and connecting SMEs with standardization organizations across Europe.

The Polish member of CEN and CENELEC, Polish Committee for Standardization (PKN), together with Small Business Standards (SBS), SMEunited and Związek Rzemiosła Polskiego (ZRP), held a joint workshop on “Empowering SMEs and crafts with standards: Practical examples and engagement opportunities”. The event coincided with the 100-year anniversary of PKN. From the workshop, organizations gained practical insight into the benefits of standards, heard success stories from local SMEs and crafts, learned how to actively engage in the standards development process and contribute to shaping of standards that impact their sector.
