The CEN and CENELEC Annual Report for 2023 is now available, in a fully digital design.
2023 was an important year for CEN and CENELEC and European standardization as a whole. It marked the 30th anniversary of the Single Market, one of the pillars of European collaboration. By ensuring that products are interoperable and meet the highest levels of quality and safety for consumers across Europe, standards build trust in the Single Market.
The strategic importance of standards was further highlighted in January 2023 by the establishment of the High-Level Forum, offering a platform to identify standardization priorities and discuss ways to improve the standardization process.
In this context, CEN and CENELEC reaffirmed their commitment to creating a sustainable, competitive. and inclusive standardization system.
The Annual Report presents the main highlights that marked a very dense and strategic year for our two organizations in 2023. Following from last year, the fully digital format allows for an accessible experience, and it reflects CEN and CENELEC’s dedication to the twin green and digital transition.
Some highlights that underline the hard work of the CEN and CENELEC community include:
- supporting the green transition of the European industry and fostering the development of new clean technologies and sustainable energy sources;
- actively contributing to Europe’s digital transition with ICT standards that are at the core of the digital transformation of all sectors of the economy;
- continuing to implement the joint CEN and CENELEC Strategy 2030;
- and continuing our efforts to make our standardization system more inclusive and open to the world, to better meet the needs of industry and civil society.
Acknowledging these and many other successes pays tribute to the efforts of our members, partners, stakeholders, and collaborators across Europe. They are a good example of the strength of the European Standardization System, which allows CEN and CENELEC to look with optimism to the future.
