In February, ANEC sent a Favourable Opinion to CEN on the proposed adoption of FprEN 1466 ‘Child care articles - Carry cots and stands for domestic use - Safety requirements and test methods’, currently under approval. The ballot closed on 9 March, with all votes cast in favour.
This CWA includes a comprehensive canon of standards for the creation, delivery, and use of eXtended Reality (XR) learning activities and 3D Augmented Reality objects for intensive educational processes. It contains a methodology detailing the techniques that should be employed through the different steps to be followed, to advance knowledge retention and impact positive behaviour in Schools. It intends to enable a common European disruptive educational approach and thus the possibility of sharing 3D content.

For the last six years there has been a recurring debate in Europe on the trace chemicals found in absorbent hygiene products (AHPs). This debate was triggered by articles on this topic published in consumer magazines which raised questions on the safety of AHPs, and led to a so-called restriction proposal for the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) to restrict the use of chemicals in absorbent hygiene products. The process concluded in 2022, and while it found that the risks could not be demonstrated, it did conclude that there is a strong need for a harmonized analytical method that delivers robust and accurate test results.
“RECLAIM "REmanufaCturing and refurbishment LArge Industrial equipMent", is a European project promoting the circular economy with remanufacturing strategies, predictive maintenance and renovation of industrial machinery in various sectors. Over 20 research centers, University and industry representatives from 9 European countries have formed RECLAIM with the aim of providing circular solutions that can help the European manufacturing sector meet future market demands.
