On 16 March, the ETUC was invited to present the findings and recommendations from its recent study on ladder safety (2022) at the European Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for Industrial Cleaning. At the meeting, UNI Europa – representing the workers in the cleaning sector - and the European Cleaning and Facility Services Industry (EFCI) discussed the next steps in relation to standardization.
The German Institute for Standardization (DIN) and the German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (DKE) of DIN and VDE now published the English versions of the German Standardization Roadmap on AI (2nd edition).
PKN, the Polish Committee for Standardization, makes every effort to popularize knowledge about standardization among young people. One of its initiatives is the nationwide contest "Standardization and me", which it has organized for 11 years. The contest is addressed to students and teachers from secondary schools. In its national Standardization Strategy, SIST (the Slovenian Institute for Standardization) set four main goals. One of them is develop new areas of standardization that will support the strategic development of the Republic of Slovenia through the involvement of stakeholders.
By 2024, the small Republic of San Marino could have its own national standardization body. In the meantime, it has started structuring an accreditation body, with the ambitious goal of European mutual recognition.
