The June issue of the CEN-CENELEC newsletter 'On The Spot' is out now!
CEN and CENELEC have developed a position paper on the proposed Net-Zero Industry Act. This document has been written in response to the consultation launched by the European Commission on 20 March 2023. CEN and CENELEC believe that European standards will be a vital tool to meet the high ambitions of increasing strategic net-zero technology production in Europe set by the Net-Zero Industry Act.
In SIST, the Slovenian Institute for Standardization, there are two technical boards that direct the technical work in standardization:
- a Technical Board for the general area,
- and a Technical Board for the electrotechnical, IT and telecommunication areas.
Brussels, 9 June - With the publication of the Net-Zero Industry Act, the EU took a decisive step to support the strategic technologies that will be essential to power the green transition and equip the European industry with the tools to lead this transformation. A stakeholders’ workshop organised by CEN and CENELEC on Thursday 8 June explored how standards can drive the future of CleanTech in Europe.
EN ISO/IEC 27701 ‘Security techniques - Extension to ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27002 for privacy information management-Requirements and guidelines’ sets out generic requirements for a Privacy Information Management System which can be adapted by organizations according to their context and applicable obligations.
CEN and CENELEC, together with the Lithuanian Standards Board (LST), participated in ‘Making Research Results Work for Society’ on 6 June in Vilnius, by delivering a training on the implementation of the Code of Practice for Researchers on Standardization in the European Research Area.

The ETUC is a member of CEN/TC 467 ‘Climate change’, which was set up in early 2021 to address standardization in the field of mitigation and adaptation to climate change, including related social and economic aspects. It aims to develop frameworks, requirements and guidance to support EU policies on climate change, in the perspective of a full implementation of the EU Green Deal.
