As the Institute for Standardization of Serbia (ISS) begins the celebration of the significant milestone of 90 years of standardization, it is with great honour that they announce the issuance of a commemorative postage stamp, symbolizing the inauguration of the 90th anniversary celebration. This gesture not only signifies the beginning of the jubilant festivities but also serves as a testament to the enduring legacy and contributions of ISS’s institution over the past nine decades.

SIST believes that introducing standardization to the younger generation is of utmost importance. Familiarizing young people with standardization is one of the main reasons why SIST actively engages with events organized by educational institutions. One such event occurred between 12 and 13 March, where SIST representatives, with their two ambassadors for standardization, participated in the ‘5 Minutes for Measurement’ event, hosted by the Laboratory for Metrology and Quality at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
ISO/TC 260 on Human Resource Management is currently looking at preparing an international standard on ‘Guidance for risk management and the ethical use and adoption of technology’. The aim is to propose measures to mitigate the human capital risks and provide guidance for the use and adoption of technology for HR processes / practices and job roles. The ETUC is opposing the proposed work as the development of such a standard raises a number of concerns.

Security staff working at European airports and ports will receive higher levels of training under new standards set in conjunction with trade unions. ETUC and UNI Europa, representing security staff, have contributed to revising two European standards on the minimum criteria for the provision of security services in the aviation and maritime sectors.
