The overall purpose and objective of this workshop is to develop a CWA (CEN Workshop Agreement) which will define a set of consensus-based guidelines for developing Management Recommendations tailored for the EU fishing fleet operating outside European waters.
The European Commission recently organised a consultation on its roadmap of the “European Strategy for Standardization”.
STAIR4SECURITY (Standards, Innovation and Research for Security) is a project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. The project has been coordinated by CEN with the involvement of four National Standardization Bodies (AFNOR, ASI, DIN and SIS), together with the Chairperson of CEN/TC 391 'Societal and Citizen Security', TFC Research and Innovation Limited, National University of Ireland Galway, and KPMG Future Analytics. The project started in January 2019 and ended in June 2021.
This CEN-CENELEC Workshop aims to share the findings on ‘Lens-based adaptor system for coupling fibre optic to laser sources’ resulted from a European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation project.
The well-established concept of robots refers to bulky machines confined to the industrial environment, carrying out repetitive tasks. In traditional industrial robotics, the operations of robot and operator are complementary and belong to separated workspaces. In the last years, we are witnessing the increasing implementation of robots and robotic devices in several other domains, such as minimally invasive surgery, healthcare, rehabilitation, agriculture and logistics.

This WS developed the CWA (CEN-CENELEC Workshop Agreement) ‘Guidelines for the assessment of resilience of transport infrastructure to potentially disruptive events’. This CWA describes a methodology for infrastructure managers to properly measure the Level of Service (LoS) provided by, and the resilience of, their transport infrastructure to natural hazards. These steps will ensure that infrastructure managers can systematically identify appropriate resilience enhancing actions and ensure the effective allocation of limited resources.

At the core of the European Green Deal lies the ambition to make Europe the world's first climate-neutral continent by 2050. As the latest development in this sector, on 14 July the European Commission adopted a package of proposals to make the EU's policies fit for reducing net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 and make Europe climate neutral by 2050. Energy efficiency is one of the pillars of the Green Deal, articulated trough the improvement of the energy performance of buildings and the increased use of renewable energies.
