CEN-CENELEC Workshop on 'Definition of parameters required for modelling of the material, cell and manufacturing process behaviour for battery cells for the automotive market'

The DEFACTO project has a specific objective of making an effective contribution to new standardisation in the batteries sector, especially regarding shortened validation of cell endurance (measurement of functionalities, ageing and safety…) and cell production. This workshop is proposed to meet this objective, and to allow interaction with the project stakeholders so that the knowledge generated in the project is transmitted to the industrial community and the stakeholders can also specify their requirements.

A better integration of alternative fuels infrastructure, thanks to the CEN and CENELEC Guide 38

To accelerate the development of alternative fuels, multifuel stations integration is fundamental. CEN and CENELEC developed the new Guide 38 to facilitate the integration of alternative fuels at existing fuelling stations and to give guidance to design, authorise and operate new multifuel stations in support of the Directive 2014/94/EU on the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure and of the future Regulation replacing the directive. This CEN and CENELEC Guide also considers other legislations impacting multifuel stations (ATEX, PED, MID).

CEN/CLC/WS 018 - Guidelines for the assessment of resilience of transport infrastructure to potentially disruptive events - Commenting phase for the CWA

 

This WS developed the CWA (CEN-CENELEC Workshop Agreement) ‘Guidelines for the assessment of resilience of transport infrastructure to potentially disruptive events’. This CWA describes a methodology for infrastructure managers to properly measure the Level of Service (LoS) provided by, and the resilience of, their transport infrastructure to natural hazards. These steps will ensure that infrastructure managers can systematically identify appropriate resilience enhancing actions and ensure the effective allocation of limited resources.

CEN and ASD-STAN launched the public enquiry for a new standard on drones

 

On 3 June 2021, CEN and ASD-STAN, the dedicated body for standardization in the aerospace sector, launched the public enquiry for prEN 4709-001 ‘Aerospace series - Unmanned Aircraft Systems - Part 001: Product requirements and verification’. This document provides technical specification and verification method to support compliance with Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945 of 12 March 2019 on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS, popularly known as ‘drones’) and on third-country operators of UAS. This includes compliance with product requirements for all UAS authorised to operate in the ‘open’ category (class C0, C1, C2, C3 and C4 UAS).

A future-oriented rail system for Europe: CEN, CENELEC and SHIFT2RAIL signed a partnership agreement

 

Brussels, 10 June 2021 – The European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) and the Shift2Rail Joint Undertaking (S2R) signed today a Memorandum of Understanding that will bring forward the standardization work on the railway sector in Europe.
