A new CEN-CENELEC Workshop is being planned which will complement the activities of the EU Research project HYSTORE (Hybrid Services from Advanced Thermal Energy Storage Systems). The mission of this project is to develop and validate an innovative set of Thermal Energy Storage (TES) concepts, based on the combination of cutting-edge technology components, unlocking the potential of this kind of energy storage as a sustainable solution.
The CEN Workshop on was kicked off on 10th February 2025. The Workshop’s registered participants have agreed on the first draft of the CWA.

A new CEN Workshop is being established to build upon the innovative outcomes of the R&I project RobétArmé, funded under the Horizon Europe programme. Targeting a step-change in Construction 4.0., the RoBétArmé architecture follows the three shotcrete application phases (inspection and metal printing, construction repair and surface finishing) aiming at automatizing particularly laborious construction tasks of shotcrete application through a highly digitalized robotics solution, which is robust and versatile enough to perform autonomous shotcreting in diverse construction environments e.g. tunnels, buildings, bridges, retaining walls, etc.

This Workshop arises from the Horizon 2020 BIOMAC project (European Sustainable BIO-based nanoMAterials Community). The project seeks to establish an Open Innovation Test Bed (IOTB), a true collaborative ecosystem where technologies and solutions utilising nano-enabled bio-based materials (NBMs) will be upscaled and prepared for market applications.
A new CEN Workshop is being established entitled “Reference Architecture for AI solutions’ application within process industry – the EU project s-X-AIPI experience”. This Workshop arises from the Horizon 2020 s-X-AIPI project (self-X Artificial Intelligence for European Process Industry digital transformation). The s-X-AIPI project endeavour is to research, develop, test, and validate a bespoke suite of trustworthy self-X AI technologies tailored for process industries. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between AI capabilities and traditional automation processes, ensuring that AI tools are both accessible and effective across various industrial applications.
