As part of CEN and CENELEC’s Digital Transformation activities, CEN and CENELEC’s Digital Transformation Project 4 ‘Open Source Solutions’ is looking at ways to incorporate open source approaches into the European standardization ecosystem by December 2022.
The insurance business is rapidly migrating from paper-based processes to the digitalization and automation of electronic processes. These electronic business processes take place between independent organizations, which leads to a variety of information formats being used. In order to facilitate this information exchange, there is a need for the standardization of the data formats being used.
CEN and CENELEC are calling for participants in their “Standards of the future – machine readable” project.
The Workshop’s aim is to develop a shared understanding of ‘digital sovereignty’. This concept of Digital Sovereignty was mentioned in the State of the Union Address by President von der Leyen and by European Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton. At the same time, it is rising on the agenda of other nations and trade blocks, too.
One of CEN and CENELEC's Digital Transformation projects, Project 4 ‘Open Source Solutions’, has been progressing with its work to provide Technical Committees (TCs) with a framework for incorporating software and other designs into standardization deliverables. It is now calling for pilot projects and members of the core project team for the next phase of the project.
