Achieving climate targets with standards: join DIN at COP28 in Dubai

The 28th World Climate Change Conference, COP28, will take place in Dubai from 30 November to 12 December 2023. Representatives of nearly 200 nations will come together to agree on ways to address the climate crisis, such as limiting global temperature rise to 1,5 degrees Celsius, helping vulnerable communities adapt to the effects of climate change, and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

European Year of Skills: SIST organized the 1st Autumn School of Standardization

Between 24 and 27 October 2023, the 1st Autumn School of Standardization, organized by SIST, Slovenia’s National Standardization Body, took place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Ljubljana. Twenty students from different study programs attended the extracurricular activity. The aim of the Autumn School of Standardization is to bring standardization closer to future engineers and give them the opportunity to get a deeper understanding of standardization and its impact on modern society.

SIST celebrated World Standards Day with 1st RAST Conference

On 16 October, the Slovenian Institute for Standardization (SIST) organized its first RAST Conference, an event to celebrate World Standards Day, to raise awareness to the importance of standards, and to present the benefits of using standards through success stories from prominent Slovenian companies. The conference, which took place at Brdo Congress Centre, offered the participants  a wealth of content on current global challenges.

ETUC feedback on the evaluation of Regulation 1025/2012 on European standardization

On 1 September, the European Commission launched a call for evidence with a view to possibly revise Regulation 1025/2012 on European standardization. Technical standardization gains importance in Luxembourg’s higher education with the Master MTECH

ILNAS, the National Standards Body of Luxembourg, has made education about standardization a top priority since the first national technical standardization strategy in 2010 and, as of 2013, ILNAS and the University of Luxembourg have been collaborating for the development of educational programs involving technical standardization.
