“A Strong Single Market needs a Strong European Standardization System”: CEN and CENELEC brought their messages for the new legislative cycle to the European Parliament. During the September plenary session of the European Parliament, CEN and CENELEC shared their call for a reinforced public-private partnership within the European Standardization System with MEPs and other stakeholders.
On 22 February, Andreea GULACSI, CEN and CENELEC’s Director Policy and External Affairs, discussed how to utilise standards for the future of the Single Market at an exchange of views at the European Parliament with Enrico LETTA, President of the Jacques DELORS Institute and former Prime Minister of Italy.
On 8 May, the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg voted to endorse the Own Initiative Report on a Standardization Strategy for the Single Market.
On 23 January, Elena Santiago Cid, Director General of CEN and CENELEC, was invited to speak at the European Parliament during the hearing on Standardization in the Single Market held by the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO).
On 28 June, members of the CEN and CENELEC European Policy Hub (EPH) organised an after-work get-together with Members of the European Parliament, their assistants and policy advisors of the political groups in Brussels. The aim of the event was to exchange views on the new European Standardization Strategy and other current political developments in the field of standardization.
