The European ecosystem is moving, and it is moving fast. The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, known as ESPR, expands the range of products covered while maintaining those already included in the Ecodesign Directive. ESPR introduces new types of ecodesign requirements that are pivotal to ensuring an effective implementation of sustainability and circularity principles.
The European Commission is reviewing the Outdoor Noise Directive (2000/14/EC) (OND). As part of this review process, CEN and CENELEC – two of the officially recognised European Standardization Organizations (ESOs) – recently published a new position paper to share their advice on the topic.
In the field of Ecodesign and Energy Labelling, CEN and CENELEC develop European Standards that provide dedicated methods for measuring the performance of various energy-related products against the requirements determined on individual product measures adopted under the Ecodesign Framework Directive (2009/125/EC) and the Energy Labelling Framework Regulation (EU) 2017/1369.
