We are thrilled to announce that the European Commission has officially cited three long-awaited cybersecurity standards in the Official Journal of the European Union. These standards, developed by the CEN and CENELEC Joint Technical Committee CEN-CLC/JTC 13 on ‘Cybersecurity and Data Protection’, address key cybersecurity requirements outlined in the Radio Equipment Directive (RED).
The European standardization community recently issued important calls for experts to contribute to two pivotal initiatives poised to shape the future of rail transport across the continent. They focus on the EU Rail Fare Profile and on the Railway Gauge standardization, both of which are critical to achieving interoperability, efficiency, and sustainability within the European rail network.

On 31 January, CEN and CENELEC replied to the call for evidence launched by the European Commission on the upcoming Single Market Strategy. This Strategy aims to modernize the Single Market to better support European competitiveness and innovation. CEN and CENELEC, as two of the three official European Standardization Organizations (ESOs), took this opportunity to outline standardization’s important contribution to the Single Market and how standardization can be used to support the goals of this strategy.
