Digitalization is a fundamental cornerstone of the EU's strategy for a greener, more efficient and more resilient economy. The availability of digital product information based on common standards plays an important role in this. Initiatives such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and the revised Construction Products Regulation (CPR) provide the regulatory framework.
This CEN/TC 442 webinar will explore the critical role of data digitalization in design and product technical committees (TCs). It will cover the importance of data digitalization with insights from CEN/TC 442 Chair Oivind Rooth (SN), an overview of the CEN/TC 442 standards ecosystem from Stepanka Tomanova (UNMZ), project leader for WG7 on the horizontal role of standards and technical feedback on how these standards can benefit other TCs from Espen Schulze (SN), convenor of WG12 on digital DoPC related to digital product passports and liaison officer representing CEN/TC 442 in CEN-CENELEC/ JTC24 DPP.
Finally, it will present practical use cases of CEN/TC 442 standards with contributions from CEN/TC 33 “Doors, windows, shutters, building hardware and curtain walling”, CEN/TC 169 “Light and lighting” and AFNOR SMART standards project XP BIM on Standards digitalization.
